Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Gas Service Engineer to join our client’s team. The primary responsibility of this role is to service and repair gas domestic appliances within customers’ homes. You will be working across the Midlands area, attending service calls and ensuring high standards of work and customer satisfaction. This role requires adherence to strict gas safety regulations and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Service and Maintenance: Perform servicing and repairs on gas-powered domestic appliances, such as refrigerators, laundry equipment, electric cookers, and dishwashers.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Use advanced problem-solving and diagnostic skills to identify and fix issues with appliances.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work aligns with current gas safety standards (CCN1, CKR1) and complies with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Customer Relations: Deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining clear, professional, and respectful communication with customers at all times
  • Stock Management: Accurately collect and manage the necessary parts for daily calls and maintain an up-to-date stock in your van.
  • Work Documentation: Complete and update electronic worksheets for each job, ensuring accuracy in reporting and parts used.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep your company van clean and well-maintained, performing regular checks as required.
  • First-Time Fix Focus: Strive to resolve issues during the first visit, promoting customer satisfaction and encouraging return business through excellent service.
  • Uniform and Professionalism: Wear the provided company uniform and maintain a professional image.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Gas Safe Certification: Must hold a valid Gas Safe certification (CCN1, CKR1).

Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing and repairing gas appliances.
  • Expertise in Domestic Appliances: Proven experience working with domestic appliance brands, including Bosch, Beko, Hotpoint, Whirlpool, Glen Dimplex, Miele, and Electrolux.

Skills

  • Gas Safety Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of gas safety regulations and procedures.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Technical Expertise: Adept at using diagnostic tools and equipment to efficiently repair a wide range of domestic appliances.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Customer Service: Ability to interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.

Other Requirements

  • Driving License: A clean driving license (up to 6 points acceptable).
