Salary: £27,000-£30,000

Role of the Towbar & Service Technician

Green Bee Recruitment is seeking a skilled Towbar & Service Technician to join a reputable and growing team based in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with mechanical experience who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service. You will be responsible for fitting towbars, servicing and repairing trailers, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Towbar & Service Technician

  • Fit towbars to customer vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Service and repair customer trailers and the company’s fleet of hire trailers
  • Assemble and modify trailers as required
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records for all trailers in the hire fleet
  • Diagnose faults and provide technical advice where necessary
  • Keep up to date with supplier fitting instructions and technical updates via the Branch Network and intranet
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales, and in compliance with company procedures
  • Contribute positively to a team-focused, safety-conscious working environment

Requirements for the Towbar & Service Technician RoleQualifications:

  • Relevant mechanical or technical training preferred
  • Full, valid UK driving licence (essential)

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and wiring diagrams
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Organised and proactive approach to workload management

Experience:

  • Previous experience in vehicle fitting, servicing, or mechanical repair (towbar fitting experience desirable)
  • Proven ability to work independently and deliver consistent results

Package

  • Competitive salary

  • 32 days annual leave including Bank Holidays
  • Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (37½ hours per week)
