Job Opportunity: Nursery Admin Assistant
Location: Gornal Wood
Hours: As required
Salary: National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage (depending on age)
Temporary Contract: 6 Months

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Admin Assistant to join our warm and welcoming team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for organisation, attention to detail, and supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare.

About the Role

As our Nursery Admin Assistant, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the nursery. From managing records and handling enquiries to producing newsletters and maintaining stock, your work will directly support the care and development of the children we serve.

You will be working closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and in line with our safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records and databases for children and staff
  • File and organise documents in line with Ofsted inspection standards
  • Assist with reception duties and respond to parent/public enquiries
  • Handle stock control and liaise with suppliers
  • Manage lunch orders and dietary requirement info for the kitchen
  • Prepare welcome packs, induction documents, and termly newsletters
  • Carry out general office duties including typing, photocopying and filing
  • Support nursery staff as needed during busy times
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and confidentiality

What We’re Looking For

· Excellent communication and organisational skills

· Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and IT systems

· Friendly, approachable, and a team player

· Able to manage multiple admin tasks in a busy setting

· Willing to attend training and support the nursery in all areas

· Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality at all times

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous admin experience in a childcare or education setting
  • Familiarity with Ofsted and safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of CRM systems or nursery-specific software
  • Basic understanding of child protection practices
