School Office Administrator (Temporary)

Role

A local school is seeking an experienced School Office Administrator / Attendance Support to join their busy school office on a temporary basis. This is an immediate start role, expected to last approximately 3 months, supporting the day-to-day operations of the school office.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced school environment, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable dealing with parents and staff in a professional and calm manner. Flexibility around working hours can be offered for the right candidate; however, availability to work 5 days per week is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support within the school office
  • Support school attendance processes, including monitoring records and following up absences
  • Communicate effectively with parents, including managing difficult or sensitive conversations
  • Use the school MIS and parent communication platforms (Bromcom preferred)
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required
  • Carry out general office administration, including correspondence and data entry
  • Use Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to support the wider school community

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a school office environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident, professional approach when dealing with parents
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using a school MIS (Bromcom desirable)
  • Experience supporting school attendance would be an advantage
  • Professional, reliable and hardworking
  • Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team
