Territory Account Manager – West Midlands
- Location: West Midlands – within 50 miles radius of Birmingham (Hybrid: 1 day office-based, 4 days field-based)
- Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 – based on experience
- Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday
Role of the Territory Account Manager
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run business that places a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and long-term relationships. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and driven Territory Account Manager who can take ownership of a defined territory in the West Midlands (Birmingham). In this role, you will have full autonomy to plan your own day, meet clients, and develop new business, while being supported by a dedicated management team.
This is a field-based role with the flexibility to plan your own schedule, including one day a week working from home or from their regional office. There may be occasional travel to the Andover or Nottingham offices as required, so a willingness to travel is essential.

Responsibilities of the Territory Account Manager
- Customer Portfolio Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with your assigned customers to drive growth and ensure satisfaction.
- New Business Development: Proactively pursue and convert new business opportunities through face-to-face meetings with potential clients.
- Account Management: Retain and grow existing accounts, ensuring their continued success and satisfaction.
- Sales Reporting: Monitor and report on your sales performance, providing regular updates to the management team.
- Autonomy: Manage your own schedule, plan client meetings, and prioritize tasks independently, while keeping in regular contact with the management team for guidance and support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (sales, administration, warehouse) to ensure smooth processes and that client needs are met.
- Travel: Regular travel within your territory will be required, with occasional office visits in Andover. You also have the flexibility to work remotely on the fifth day unless office attendance is requested.
Requirements for the Territory Account Manager Role
Qualifications
- Full clean driving license.
- A general education with literacy and numeracy skills.
Skills
- Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable managing your schedule and working independently.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in a customer-facing role (not from a construction or retail background).
- Proven experience in managing accounts and developing new business.
- Able to work autonomously while meeting sales targets.
- Comfortable with travel and occasional office-based work.
