School Office Administrator (Maternity Cover – Part Time)

Job Description:

Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a primary school within a Multi-Academy Trust for a part-time School Office Administrator to cover maternity leave. This is a key front-facing role within a busy school office, providing administrative and organisational support to the wider school community while ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide an effective and professional front-of-house service, adhering to safeguarding requirements
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and pupils via telephone and in person
  • Issue communications and letters to parents, staff, and pupils as required
  • Use ParentMail for communications, registrations, and responding to queries
  • Support the organisation of school events, trips, and associated administration
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries, distributing items appropriately
  • Assist with stock control and general office administration
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the school Management Information System (Bromcom experience desirable but not essential)
  • Complete routine school administration tasks, including returns, goods receipts, and agency spreadsheets
  • Administer first aid as required by the role
  • Support the ethos, values, and objectives of the school and Trust

Requirements

  • Demonstrable office administration experience
  • Previous school office experience desirable but not essential
  • Confident user of ICT systems and office software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, front-facing environment
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Educated to GCSE/NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
  • First Aid qualification desirable or willingness to undertake training
  • Strong awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
