Nursery Deputy Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to assist in the daily operations of the nursery setting.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the provision of a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, supporting the Manager in leadership, compliance, and development of the setting you!
About the role
- Location: Dudley, DY1
- Salary: Starting from £13.22ph
- Hours: Full time, 37-40 hours per week to work varied shifts between 7:30-6:00pm
Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery/Setting Manager in the day-to-day running of the provision, stepping in during their absence.
- Lead and mentor a team of childcare practitioners to deliver exceptional care and early years education.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, EYFS, Ofsted, and the nursery policies and procedures.
- Help manage staffing rotas, training, and supervisions.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and professionals, promoting effective communication and partnership working.
- Monitor and assess children’s development, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Support with curriculum planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Assist with administrative duties including health and safety checks, risk assessments, and budget control where required.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years/Childcare – essential
- Proven experience in a senior childcare role or as a Room Leader/Deputy
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passionate about supporting children’s development and wellbeing
- A clear, enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
